Graduation Requirements
In addition to meeting credit requirements, all Oregon high school graduates must complete Personalized Learning Diploma Requirements (PLRs)

- Student Resume
- Future Story Essay
Students attending Willamette Connections Academy will complete their Personalized Learning Requirements in the High School Success, Senior Success, and core content classes throughout each school year in grades 9-12.
1. Career Related Learning Experiences (CRLEs)
Willamette Connections Academy students must engage in CRLE opportunities and submit reflection(s) that demonstrate a "meet" level on the rubric prior to graduation. WillCA believes that it is important for students to participate in activities throughout their high school experience that provide opportunities that will prepare all student for career readiness. Students who build a solid future story in high school will have greater success in school as well as life.
Students may participate in one or more of the following CRLE activities:
Awareness Activities
- Worksite Visits
- Career Fair
- Guest Speaker or Industry Panel
- Job Shadow
- Mock Interviews
- Career Focus Events
- Internships
- Practicums
- Technology-Based Learning (Virtual Academies/Seminars)
CRLE requirements for the Class of 2022 and beyond:
Two CRLEs must be completed prior to graduation
Two CRLEs must be completed prior to graduation
- 1 by the end of grade 10
- 1 by the end of grade 12
2. Student Resume
All WillCA students must complete a resume that is scored as meeting rubric standards prior to graduation. The resume is a job search tool that may also be used in scholarship applications, college admissions, or when asking for a letter of recommendation. The resume should be a positive and accurate presentation of each student's skills, accomplishments, education, and experience. Students attending WillCA will complete the résumé requirement in the High School Success class or English class prior to Junior year.
3. Future Story Essay
At WillCA, Oregon's Extended Application diploma requirement is call the Future Story Essay. All WillCA students must complete a Future Story Essay that is scored as meeting rubric standards prior to graduation. The Future Story Essay is a formal reflection of a student's high school experiences related to college and career readiness, goals, and clearly outlines the student's plan for future success. The Future Story Essay supports the goal that all WillCA students will graduate college and/or career ready with an informed post-high school plan. Students attending WillCa will complete the Future Story Essay in the Senior Success course.
